Coronavirus: Tax Payments & Filing Dates Extended 90 Days

Tax deadlines have changed due to the Coronavirus pandemic!As of now, here are the new deadlines for your 2019 Income Tax Returns:Federal Tax Returns:

  • All income tax returns originally due April 15th, 2020 are now due July 15, 2020

  • All income tax payments originally due April 15th, 2020 are now due July 15, 2020

  • This includes personal, corporate (C-Corp), estates and trusts

  • Note: The maximum tax that is deferred to July is $1 million for persons, trusts, and estates while businesses are limited to $10 million in tax payment deferral

State Tax Returns:

  • North Carolina

State Income Tax (business & personal) (PARTIAL Tax Relief)

  • All income tax returns originally due April 15th, 2020 are STILL DUE 4/15/20!

    • You must file an extension to extend the time to pay! 

  • All income tax payments originally due April 15th, 2020 are now due July 15, 2020

    • BUT you must extend the tax return or else pay late penalties!

    • BUT interest will accrue on tax unpaid by April 15, 2020!

    • Penalties will be waived (if you extend) if you pay by July 15, 2020
